CORPUS CHRISTI

 to R.B. 

If Lover and Beloved and Love between them

be the triune God, how great is His love –

the Father’s for His children –

that he broke open His heart

to send His Son

ever-wilful, ever-sinful

children to save.

So came it that Jesus,

true Man and true God

Incarnate, confines Himself

in frail roundel of Bread.

Pause I then to ponder

such Love Divine:

Jesus man of flesh

with the Father ever One,

comes to dwell within me

until that time come

when He takes me to dwell

in the heart of truest Love:

the Holy Trinity.
